Continuing Ministerial Development

Learning is life-long for everyone, not least for those who are continuing to grow as church leaders.

If you are ordained into accredited Baptist ministry there will be 3 or 4 years as a Newly Accredited Minister (NAM), during which your Association will help you continue to develop, assisted by a Baptist college such as NBC.

As a Baptist leader you will want to keep up to date with the latest legislation, e.g. regarding Safeguarding. Local Associations usually provide training and colleges sometimes assist with this. Sometimes colleges will arrange a workshop about a particular topic (e.g. inter-generational church), or have a guest speaker for an evening or weekend.

Some ministers, with their church's blessing, pursue further studies, perhaps studying for a Masters or PhD. Through its partnership with LKH, NBC can offer postgraduate courses and research programmes.
